Ward Camp out - DAY 2

April 10, 2010
Ward Campout - Continued!

I am on the activites committee so I got to help make breakfast. I was the one who barked orders and the men around me helped make it happen. It worked really well. We made pancakes, hashbrowns, and eggs for everyone. It was a lot of work, but a good time was had by all!
The kids were all around the fire pit trying to see what dust and mess they could make!

My cute kids eating breakfast. Sophia still in her pajamas! It must have been yummy, James is going to town!
The kids had so much fun!

Ward Camp Out! - Day 1

Bellows Air Force Base
This is the "hell fire and damnation" speech around the campfire from the Elders Quorum President! Just kidding.. but the picture is around the campfire with the Elders Quorum President. We had a really great time!

This was the baby corral. Someone was very smart and brought this to keep the babies away from the fire pit! There are so many little ones in our ward, this was a great idea. Sophia was one of the oldest in the corral. She is almost ready to move on to Sunbeams!

Sophia was so cute walking around with her flashlight in the dark! It was so much fun. She also loved her glow necklaces. Grandma Packer had sent them to us a while ago and I had saved them for camping so I can find my kids easier!

Daniel and Sophia playing inside their tent. Sophia is blowing you a kiss!

James on top of both the air matresses and the pillows!

All the kids jumping on the air matresses!

Daniel and Sophia were inside of their little tent, that was inside our big tent. They think camping is great!

Sterling was helping set up the tent! He set up the tent and I got it situated.

Father's and Son's Campout

Ho'omaluhia Botanical Garden in Kaneohe

Hiding so well in this very cool tree is my very sneaky Daniel!
Daniel and James posing with the very cool sticks by our fun camping tent!

If there is something to swing on or climb on count Daniel in!

Daniel really wanted to pose with the avacado hanging from the tree!

This is a group of some of the boys from our ward who went
on an afternoon hike/fishing trip together!

This fish doesn't look real, but it was!
James caught 4 fish while at the pond. 3 orange ones (Red Devil fish) and a brown one.
He was so excited! He called me at home to tell me all about it!
James fishing, while Daniel ?
Here is the small brown fish James caught. A very kind old German man came to rescue their group from a day with no fish. He kindly shared his hot dog buns for bait and away they went. After some coaching from the nice old man it was smooth fishing!
4 for James, 0 for Daniel. Daniel just couldn't hold still long enough to catch anything!

James' eyes crack me up on this one.... poor fish.
They let them all go back into the lovely pond, that somehow Sterling didn't get a picture of!

Here is yet another fish.. maybe the same 3 times.. who knows! Pretty impressive!

For some reason Blogger is having a hard time uploading pictures today.. I have several more pictures that I wanted to post, but it wasn't working right.. but I think you got the idea!

Ward Campout!

On Friday after we dropped Steve and Kristal at the Airport we went back home and got things packed up for the Camping trip. I was pretty tired and decided that it would be a great Father and Sons camping trip so I helped them pack up and Sophia and I stayed home. In hind sight we are so glad we did. It rained, no maybe poured is a better word, the whole night!
The boys had so much fun, even in the rain. Daniel slept in his tent inside Daddy's tent and James slept on the air mattress by Sterling. They stayed dry ~ mostly!

The ward had all kinds of things planned for Saturday Morning, but most people had already packed up and left by the time the boys got up around 7:00am. Sterling said people started packing up around 4:00am because it was just too wet and sleeping was pretty difficult. Daniel and James had a great time playing in the water and puddles!

If there is a stick to be found.. Daniel will find it!
The boys were home before 9:00am and the house was littered with drying sleeping bags and the garage was the drying place for the monster tent!
Next time we will be sure to check the weather forecast BEFORE the campout!

This is a view of all the waterfalls as Sterling drove home on H3!

It looks pretty amazing with all the waterfalls. There were over 100 waterfalls!
Pretty amazing!
