First Time to the Beach

I don't have any pictures of it because it wasn't a planned event. We had been house hunting for hours and the kids were really done. Most of the people had talked about the great beach not to far from where we were looking, so we figured we were already in that area we would check it out. The only problem was that we had no swimming suits, just the clothes we were in. Sterling thought maybe we could go play in the sand and not get in the water. We went to Long's Drugs to buy some buckets the beach to build with. Then we went to Ko Olina. It was beautiful! That is the Hawaii you see post cards of! We weren't there 2 minutes, including getting out of the car, and Daniel was wet up to his head. James was trying to stay mostly dry, but one little slip on the rocks and he was soaked too. Sophia was dry the longest, but we finally gave in and just let her play in her diaper and shirt. They had a great time! Sterling and I managed to stay mostly dry. We stayed for the beautiful sunset. After the sunset we tried to get everyone changed into something dry. This is when we really wished we had the camera. My children were quite the sight! In the diaper bag 2 outfits for Sophia and a pair of shorts for Daniel. How to make that work for 3 kids: James took off all of his clothes and just wore Daniels shorts, Daniel was the best trooper, he had to wear Sophia's Diaper (we were out of his diapers too!) and Sophia's bright pink pants with a flower on the bumb. He didn't want to, but he needed to keep the tight pants on to keep on the size 3 diaper on (He wears 5's). Sophia escaped wearing her own clothes. But the kids really had a great time!
** Note to self... always have beach stuff in the car ready for the emergency beach trip!
