We had Helena's first appointment today. I was expecting to get the 'intake' guy who evaluates how badly we really need their services and then schedules me an appointment in a month from now, but instead we got Dr. Gallagher. Dr. Gallagher is the chief of the Special Needs department and was so amazingly thorough with my sweet baby it brought a whole new light to my health care. He took 2 hours to look her over and was so informative and thorough and great with her. Sterling and I both left there really upbeat and thinking how grateful we are that we have a great doctor to help our Laynie.
Today she measured in at 11.1 lbs, 23.5 inches long, and her head is 38.5 cm. She is still super tiny and not doing all the things she should be, but Dr Gallagher is going to help her figure out the things she is missing and keep encouraging us along the way.
