Uncle Gard Comes to Hawaii

Uncle Gard and Julie came to Hawaii. They stayed out at Ko' Olina, which is amazingly beautiful. I hadn't ever been to the actual resort before just to the beaches. It was pretty amazing. A whole little city all within the resort. Gard and Julie spoiled us rotten. My kids were able to go out and swim at their amazing pools 3 different times during their 2 week stay. Gard and Julie came to our house for dinner both Sundays that they were in town. We taught them how to play Settlers of Catan. While they were in town we played 4 games of Settlers with them. I think we got Julie hooked! Julie taught me a fun new hobby of jewelry making. I have already made Sophia 3 new bracelets and a necklace and a bracelet for me. It is a little dangerous... how many bracelets can one little girl wear? But it is very fun, even James has made Sophia a bracelet. Okay.. back to Gard's visit!

We had lots of fun playing Settlers of Catan with Gard and Julie.
Yep.. it is a must at the Packer house!

James playing in the water!

James is getting so comfortable in the water. He is SO close to swimming for real. He can do everything but the breathing part. They had so much fun playing in the 3 different pools!

Crazy Daniel!

What a beautiful place!

Uncle Gard got James a snow cone... his favorite!

Getting all wrapped up and warm after a great day of swimming!

On a different day at a different pool.....
Daniel played in the "sand" and made lots of friends.

Sophia was brave for just a few minutes and went in the water with Sterling.
She is getting so big!

I didn't take nearly enough pictures of all the fun that we had. We were so excited to see family. The kids really had a great time and spent a lot of time in the pools.

Thanks for including us in your vacation Gard!

it is so much fun to have visitors. we love 'em. you'll have to take some pics to show off your jewelry. i'd love to make some matching stuff for the girls. you'll have to teach me some of your mad skills.

How fun , and of course Settlers is a must!
Your making jewelry???...I have always wanted to learn that. I would love to wear the cute necklaces and stuff that women sport, but they are so expensive. Not at first, but when you have a necklace for every outfit...wow, that gets pricey! Not that making them is any cheaper, but at least you get exactly what you wanted.

I agree - it is so, so, so good to see family. Especially when you live so far away. My parents are coming this week and I CAN'T WAIT!!! The kids are looking great - so cute. I didn't know you were Settlers people. How is it that we never played in GA?!?!

I love checking out your blog and seeing all the fun stuff you guys do. My mother-in law made me a mother's braclet once, I have been wanting to learn how to do it. Post some pictures of your work :)
