Zoo Camp! Feeding the Elephants

June 30th, 2010
Daniel and James both did Zoo Camp for a week from June 28th - July 2nd. James was a Adventurer and had lots of fun. His teacher didn't put out a schedule, but we did see him a few times while we were there. We didn't get to do any activities with his group.
Daniel was a junior adventurer and got to do all kinds of fun things each day around the zoo. His teachers, Uncle Jason and Auntie Sarah (in Hawaii everyone is Auntie and Uncle) were so much fun. Jason was really good at warning the parents when they were going to feed the animals so we could be there to participate and take pictures.
Uncle Jason would lead 20 4-5 year olds around the zoo holding on to the rope. It was so funny to watch him stop to tie shoes and fix hats. He had a junior zoo keeper, Khalil to help as well. Daniel loved every minute of Zoo Camp!

Getting ready to go behind the elephant encounter

Daniel was very brave, he was the first one who got to feed the elephants!
They were feeding them big pieces of celery.

Daniel thought it was so cool to touch the elephants trunk!

Sophia could have feed the elephant but wasn't brave enough.. so Daniel helped her.

After we fed the elephants we walked around to see some more animals while Daniels class went back for lunch and a craft.
Sophia and her best friend Patrick were so cute seeing the zoo together!

To top it off..and while Helena had a bottle.. Sophia and Patrick played on the playground.
Zoo Camp is great!
